Stats 

350 participants (205 Runners and 100 walkers; 45 staff and volunteers) at the 5th annual Run for Mom event to promote wellness and awareness of the number one killer of American women. The weather was perfect - warm and sunny at 75 degrees with a gentle breeze. Before and after the race, participants enjoyed jewelry sales, DJ music by LaFauci Entertainment, blood pressure screenings by RWJ Hamilton Center for Health and Wellness and entertainment with handouts from New Jersey 101.5 Radio Team.

Special thanks to health partner, RWJ-Hamilton Center for Health and Wellness for providing free blood pressure screenings and NJDEP volunteers, especially Robin and Richelle Heston who organized the jewelry sales and registration tables; and Stacey Mignone of Slim and Tone who conducted warm-ups; Additional acknowledgements: Girl Scouts-Delaware Raritan and Leaders for volunteer support, Wegmans - fresh oranges, bananas and bottled water, Sam's club for $25 gc, and RJ's of Ewing for the bagels.



Last but not least, thanks to Governor Jon S. Corzine who served as honorary chair of the day's event, issuing a proclamation to launch National Women's Health Week; the Honorable Assemblywoman Linda S. Greenstein who read the proclamation and joined us for the start of the Run event; and Dean Gray and the entire staff at Mercer County Park for once again doing an outstanding job co-hosting this annual event to benefit the heart health New Jersey women and their families.




The Women's Heart Foundation, the only non-governmental organization that designs and implements demonstration projects for the prevention of heart disease, is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey and was founded in 1992 to reduce the burden of heart disease in women by instuting wellness and prevention programs.
