Stats 

Purple was the color of the day with 155 participants (81 Runners and 40 walkers; 34 staff and volunteers) at the 4th annual Run for Your Heart event to promote wellness and awareness of the number one killer of American women. The weather was warm and sunny at 85 degrees temperature. Before and after the race, participants enjoyed jewelry sales, DJ music by LaFauci Entertainment, blood pressure screenings by RWJ Hamilton Center for Health and Wellness, New World Marketing health food samples and palm readings by Sassoon. Commerce Bank and others provided free gifts. Participants completed a pre and post test on questions related to sleep disturbance, stroke and heart health.

Note: PSEG provided support by donating five refurbished computers to the WHF Teen Esteem Health and Fitnees program, which WHF in turn distributed to disadvantaged youths who demonstrated scholastic aptitude; Curves provided support through the collection and donation of used jewelry; Rutgers University-Camden provides ongoing support to the WHF research project at Trenton Central High School that examines the effect of a wellness intervention on teen girls' health choices.
