Jan. 1992-Present Capital Health System, Mercer
Campus, Trenton, NJ Nurse Practitioner: Provide primary care to adult
clients in the Outpatient Clinic, the Gyn Clinic, and the Wound Care
Center including obtaining histories and performing physical exams,
diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, providing client
education and collaborating with other professionals to promote comprehensive
health care. Participate in interdisciplinary committees, chair advanced
practice nurses group.
April - Dec. 1991 Mercer Medical Center, Trenton, NJ Staff Development
Educator: Coordinated and taught CPR classes, oriented new unit secretaries
and agency nurses, developed and edited educational materials, assisted
with planning and projects.
1988 - 1991 Sheffield School for Nannies, Pennington, NJ Instructor:
Taught a varied course encompassing physical care of infants, first
aid, safety and health concerns from birth to adolescence. Expanded
the course from forty to eighty hours. Documented course content
for review by education specialists in the school's successful effort
to obtain college credit for Sheffield graduates through Edison College.
1986 - 1987 Parents‘ Anonymous State Resource Office, Princeton,
NJ Hotline Counselor: Part time. Provided “active listening” and
referrals to callers of a state-wide, 24 hour hotline/helpline for
prevention of child abuse and for assistance and referral for all
types of family problems.
1983 - 1984 Holy Redeemer Visiting Nurse Agency, Philadelphia, PA
Visiting Nurse: Planned and carried out nursing care of clients with
short term or chronic health problems. Emphasized teaching and counseling
of clients and families. Supervised home health aids who were assigned
to my case load of clients.
1981 - 1982 Goldwater Memorial Hospital, New York, NY Nurse Practitioner:
In collaboration with a physician, responsible for the health care
of 96 chronically ill patients. Responsibilities included admission
and annual histories, physical examinations, diagnosis and management
of chronic and acute illnesses, teaching and counseling of patients
and families, and collaborating with other members of the health
care team to plan and evaluate patient care.
